Zemire
Zémire et Azor by André Grétry

The ACO proudly presents a historic performance of an opera comique in a semi-staged version. The work was performed in Paris in 1771 and in New York City at the Fraunces Tavern in 1790. It features six lead roles in fine, memorable melodies accompanied by stylish orchestration. Based on Beauty & the Beast, the comic opera has magic spells, lust, ballet, and a frog prince!
